HOW BULLHIDE HATS ARE MADE
Bullhide hats have gained special recognition in the western market because of their superior finish, innovative style and exclusive trimmings. These are the qualities that make Bullhide Hats unique
Each hat body is handcrafted by expert artisans using different materials and must pass a careful inspection by skilled hatters
To start, each hat body is hand dipped in a special lacquer, which makes the hats more durable, water-resistant and easy to clean
Unlike other manufactures that run their hats through ovens, Bullhide Hats are allowed to air-dry. This process takes longer but allows the stiffener to cure uniformly and eliminates peeling and cracking
Next, for the blocking process, Monte Carlo uses heat, pressure and extreme care to give the hat its final size and shape. They are then trimmed to the proper brim width
All straw and crushable felt hats have a special wire sewn to the brim to allow you to customize your hat to your liking. This is called a "U-style it" brim.
Sweatbands are individually fitted to each hat. By individually fitting each piece of leather to each hat this ensures the best fit and quality. This is necessary because of the different thickness of bodies and other variables. Other manufacturers cut the sweatband to a particular size and make it fit the hat
The final steps give each hat its' unique touch. Monte Carlo lines the hats in satin, when appropriate, trim and decorate them with exclusive leather bands, rhinestones, studs, ribbons and bows giving each hat the distinctive Bullhide look
Each hat must pass rigid quality control inspections. The resulting process ensures a genuine work of art: a masterpiece, a Bullhide hat
